Cometic Gasket, Inc., is a leading worldwide supplier of gaskets and engine sealing solutions for the Automotive Performance, Powersports, Original Equipment and remanufactured Engine Industries.
Cometic is looking for a responsible Quality Inspector to check the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products as well as production procedures. You will be an advocate of quality in our business.
Reports to: Quality Control Manager
Shift/Hours: 1st Shift, Monday Through Friday
Pay: based on experience
Benefits: Employee is eligible for medical, dental, vision after 90 days of employment along with vacation and sick time. 401k after six months.
Job Duties Include:
Inspection of product outputs using appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions or specific customer requirements.
- Checking product attributes or production line adheres to standards and procedures.
- Determine the causes of product defects. (Root cause analysis)
- Properly contain and distribute non-conforming outputs for rework.
- Recording inspection results by importing re-work data into a quality database.
- Accurately count and enter accepted products into inventory.
- Assist with PPAP document creation.
- Assist with first article inspection.
- Promote awareness to the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
- Gain Knowledge in the use of additional equipment (e.g. Dial indicator, Optical Comparator, Laser Scanner.)
Requirements and Skills:
- Understand units of measurement (English / Metric) for reviewing drawings and specifications (tolerances) to compare produced goods.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Must have computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite, and Google email.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma
- Capable of using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products.
- Prior inspection experienced preferred
