Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Monitor patients’ health by observing and reporting any changes in their condition.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Engage clients in social activities and companionship to promote mental well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy.
- Support clients with medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving, home health, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and basic caregiving skills is essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client transfers and mobility assistance.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to help others.
- Familiarity with social work principles is a plus but not mandatory.
- Must be able to cook nutritious meals tailored to individual client needs.
- A compassionate attitude towards patients, demonstrating patience and empathy at all times.
- Valid certification or training in caregiving or related fields is advantageous but not required.
