Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to clients in their daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed, ensuring their safety during transfers.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
- Monitor clients’ physical and emotional health, reporting any changes or concerns to family members or healthcare providers.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks as necessary.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a trusting relationship with clients.
- Assist with meal preparation and nutrition management according to dietary needs.
Skills
- Proven experience in caregiving, particularly in senior care or assisted living environments.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is beneficial.
