Job Summary:
Are you an experienced and passionate technical professional with expertise in HVAC, sheet metal duct installation, plumbing, and pipefitting? CT Mechanical is seeking a proactive and skilled Technical Training Program Facilitator to join our team. In this role, you will facilitate and deliver comprehensive training programs to ensure our technicians are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about training, possess strong technical expertise, and be capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Training Program Development:
- Act as the primary facilitator for the training program development committee.
- Coordinate and lead committee meetings to design and develop comprehensive training programs for HVAC, sheet metal duct installation, plumbing, and pipefitting.
- Ensure training materials, manuals, and documentation are created and updated by the committee to support learning.
- Incorporate feedback from the committee and continuously update training programs to reflect new techniques, tools, and industry standards.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other departments to align training with project requirements.
- Coordinate with HR and leadership to identify training needs and objectives.
- Collaborate with external training providers and institutions as needed.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all training complies with OSHA standards, local building codes, and company policies.
- Promote a strong safety culture and enforce safety regulations during training.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training refreshers.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, trainee progress, and certification statuses.
- Prepare reports on training outcomes and effectiveness for management review.
- Track and manage training-related expenses and budgets.
- Conduct Training Sessions:
- Lead hands-on training sessions for new hires and current employees.
- Deliver classroom-style lectures and practical demonstrations.
- Assess trainee performance through tests, evaluations, and practical assessments.
- Technical Guidance:
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to trainees.
- Demonstrate best practices and safety procedures in all mechanical trades.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during training.
- Mentorship and Support:
- Mentor trainees to ensure their professional development and growth.
- Provide feedback and constructive criticism to help improve skills and performance.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
Role Requirements:
- Technical Expertise:
- Extensive experience in HVAC, sheet metal duct installation, plumbing, and pipefitting.
- Proven hands-on experience in mechanical trades with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Instructor Certifications:
- Certified Technical Trainer (CTT ) or equivalent certification.
- National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Instructor Certification is a plus.
- OSHA Outreach Trainer Certification or equivalent safety training certification.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years working in HVAC, plumbing, pipefitting, or sheet metal work in commercial construction.
- Previous experience in a training, mentorship, or supervisory role.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate trainees of varying skill levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with trainees and colleagues.
- Leadership and Organizational Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing teams or projects.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training programs simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on achieving high standards of quality and safety.
- Computer Literacy:
- Proficient in using computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and training management systems.
- Familiarity with virtual training platforms and tools is a plus
