Position Summary
In this position time is split between yard operations and project site work supporting construction operations. Duties include construction yard tasks such as receiving, organizing, delivery of job site materials, and grounds maintenance. As a liaison between construction management, customer and community you are responsible for working through and completing job site punch list items including landscape laborer tasks. A wide variety of duties require organization, excellent communication and acceptance of a variety of work tasks and direction to be successful.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for receiving all yard deliveries, routing packages as needed and placing yard and job site materials in storage areas
- Organize, track and maintain inventory of customer job site materials stored at yard facilities
- Deliver materials, tools or equipment to job sites as needed
- Perform yard site inspections as required
- May be required to perform light vehicle maintenance duties such as tire rotations and oil changes as permitted
- Liaison work requires response to work tickets generated from customer projects, associated with residential communities, which require communication between construction management and residents
- Liaison duties include resident customer service such as listening to the customer, responding to work tickets for site restoration including seeding grassing areas, patchwork, and communicating with and between customer, job site foreman and management
- Perform physical laborer duties such as digging with shovels and potholing as needed in support of crew needs
- Must comply with all safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Requirements
- High School Diploma or the equivalent in knowledge and training required
- 1 plus years of landscaping, laborer experience or construction experience required
- Ability to read instructions and take work direction verbally and in writing
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft programs; Outlook and Excel
- Experience using software systems for inventory management and work tickets
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Must be able to pass background check
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing
Preferred Knowledge
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License
This position requires a combination of mobile and sedentary work; frequent standing is required with infrequent periods of sitting. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move equipment and objects up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity to perform activities related to computer work, finger dexterity for keyboarding and operating related job equipment and hand tools. Requires ability to lift arms above shoulders. The work environment is loud on a regular basis and may require the employee to work in a variety of weather elements including extreme cold and heat.
