What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent position at COMMAND TECHNOLOGY INC?
Command Technology Inc is looking for a procurement professional with large scale purchasing and contracting experience within the manufacturing/aerospace industry. Must have machine shop experience. This position will be responsible for the sourcing and procurement of goods/services at the best quality and lowest price in an acceptable time frame.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions in a timely manner.
- Tracks vendor delivery performance/expedited freight occurrences
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information
- Receives proper confirmation of purchase price and delivery date on all purchase orders sent to vendors. Properly updates purchase order in the ERP system to reflect the order confirmation received from vendor.
- Create, review, edit, and negotiate Contract Agreements (TAs, NDAs, etc.)
- Monitors shipments to ensure that goods come in on-time and in the event of problems, traces shipments and follows up on undelivered goods.
- Maintains and cultivates communication with the supply base
- Review catalogs, industry periodicals, directories, trade journals, and Internet sites, and consult with other company personnel to locate necessary goods and services.
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Work closely with all major functional leaders of the finance department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
