About This Job
The Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for bringing design solutions to life which adhere to brand standards, marketing strategies and business goals. They must be comfortable making design recommendations, working with other designers and should be able to see graphics development from a holistic perspective.
As a Graphic Design Specialist, they must be able to both produce and oversee print and digital creative solutions that satisfy the marketing needs of internal clients. They should possess in-depth knowledge of graphic design, styles and layout techniques as well as be able to manage projects efficiently.
Essential Functions
Acts with a higher level of creative solutions advisory relationship management with minimal oversight from direct manager
SME focus on assigned business unit scope to provides creative solution recommendations
Identifies and coordinates continuous improvement for workflow processes
Serves as the primary representative for Creative Solutions in cross-functional project teams as needed
Helps to mentor and onboard new team members to the Standard Operating Procedures and Best Practices of the team and organization
Assists the senior designer and Creative Solutions Manager with keeping the DAM up to date.
Creation of visual design solutions, from concept to completion, in print or digital platforms using a wide range of graphic applications for internal and external communications programs and projects including the development, revisions and production of creative output.
Ensures creative output meets the business requirements, message and functions successfully for brand, technical and performance specifications; ensures that all brand guidelines, internal and external quality standards are met for each assignment
Communicates and coordinates with the client, becomes familiar with project assignments, develops initial creative concepts and expands on them through internal and client-based feedback throughout the production process
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Advanced account servicing experience
Demonstrated proficiency in developing creative solution recommendations
Advanced knowledge about traditional and digital marketing best practices
Solid understanding of project management; Workfront experience, a plus
The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, to see projects through from inception to production, displays consistency regardless of project size
Capability to creatively solve problems within brand guidelines; the motivation to maintain and improve design standards
Willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve
Ability to work full time in an Agile, collaborative team environment
Ability to ask questions, offer solutions, retain information and apply details to future situations
Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communication or similarly related-field preferred
5 years professional experience in graphic design or related-field required
4 years marketing experience required, financial services experience preferred
