General Purpose
Commerce City seeks a dynamic Housing Planner to coordinate innovative, affordable housing initiatives that align with City Council's goals. This grant-funded position is key in advancing housing affordability by implementing affordable housing projects, managing housing grant programs, and developing partnerships with housing providers and developers. The Housing Planner will create and oversee affordability policies, analyze housing opportunities, pursue funding sources, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance and success in meeting the City's housing needs. Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- Principals and techniques of planning
- zoning and land use
- Community development and affordable housing real estate development current practice
- issues and housing policy in: (1) affordable housing preservation; (2) mixed finance development; and/or (3) low-income housing tax credits
- Understanding and responding to customer needs
- The use of a personal computer, applicable software programs and office equipment
- Simultaneously work on multiple tasks and set priorities
- Develop innovative approaches to create affordable housing opportunities
- Interpret federal, state, and local regulations

Salary : $90,945 - $101,050
