Overview:

Commercial Capital Company is a locally owned, family-owned Equipment Lease Finance company located in Lenexa, KS. We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 1-2 years of accounting experience or a bachelor’s degree in a non-accounting finance related field and 3-4 years of accounts receivable experience. Responsibilities:

• Improve cash application and other AR procedures.
• Ensures daily accurate balancing of deposits received, posting of receipts, and cash matching to correct customer.
• Provides timely resolution of any unidentified receipts through research, unidentified payments, deductions, short pays, etc.
• Actively perform functions in bank lockbox deposit and credit card merchant portals.
• Generate and send out invoices to customers in a timely manner.
• Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Understanding of where to find financial documents within Certinia
• Collaborate with other team members to improve billing and accounting procedures.
• Assist with related special projects and ad hoc reporting as required.
• Conduct general ledger month end reconciliation processes
• Utilize accounting software to maintain financial records accurately
• Assist in relationship management of large customer accounts

Experience:

The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

• Strong financial acumen and understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Salesforce Financial Force or similar accounting software
• Experience in corporate finance and securities law is a plus-
• Ability to interpret and analyze complex financial reports
• Solid knowledge of general ledger accounting practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Finance related field and 3-4 years accounts receivable experience OR Bachelors in Accounting and 1-2 years of accounting experience required
• Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulations desired
• Proficient in accounting software or Microsoft Excel required, and experience with Salesforce or other relational database CRM platforms desired
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $60,083- $75,616  per year
