What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant - Direct Hire - 75 - 80k position at Commercial Employees?
We’re hiring a Senior Accountant position for a well-known valve manufacturer in Irwin. This Senior Accountant position is a direct hire with a targeted salary range of 75 - 80k.
Senior Accountant role includes:
- Prepare journal entries and completion of month-end close process
- Upload of financial results and assist in upload of budgets and forecasts
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and bank reconciliation
- Inventory accounting - reporting, reconciliation, & cycle count administration
- Cost accounting & analysis on direct labor, purchase price variances, and work orders
- Prepare and review Sales/Use tax returns
- Fixed asset/Lease accounting and depreciation/amortization
- Intercompany accounting and accruals
- Prepare and maintain Internal Control documentation process
- Assist in internal control audits and external audits
- Collaboration with AP, AR, Sales, Manufacturing, and other departments on operational reporting and other projects as required
- Provide support to Controller and Financial Analyst
- Utilize Avante ERP System and Cognos Financial Reporting System
- Examine and analyze financial data reports and spreadsheets using Excel
- Work on special projects as required
Senior Accountant Background & Benefits:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 8 years of experience in accounting role in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to general ledger, inventory, costing, operational metrics, and financial analysis
- Proficient knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel, skills in Microsoft Access a plus
- Ability to work independently and to manage priorities and workflow in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Must be detail oriented and be able to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Direct hire full-time position.
- Salary range BOE 75 - 80k
