What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Commercial National Bank?
The custodian's primary job purpose is to maintain the cleanliness of the bank’s branches by performing various cleaning tasks and ensuring a clean and orderly environment for the bank's employees and customers.
Duties and responsibilities

- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in all bank branches including but not limited to: sanitizing kitchen areas and restrooms, taking out trash, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing employee workstations as well as customer areas and high-touch areas/items, washing windows and glass doors.
- Creates and maintains cleaning schedules for all branches.
- Ensures all bank customers and employees are able to enjoy a clean and sanitized environment at each bank branch.
- Maintains a neat and orderly janitors’ room and/or cart; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
- Assists in examining bank branches for safety hazards and security risks; reports deficiencies to supervisor or security officer.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license and reliable means of personal transportation are required.
- Must be able to pass background check and credit check.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional cleaning experience is required.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to make and maintain a cleaning schedule to ensure the bank branches remain clean and orderly.
- Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated to complete tasks.
- Ability to interact with staff and bank customers while remaining professional, polite, and courteous without being disruptive to the professional environment.
- Ability to promote CNB as a relationship community building financial institution with focus on volunteerism and teamwork.
- Ability to exercise judgement, raise questions to management, and adhere to policy guidelines.

Physical requirements
- Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
