Summary

We are currently seeking Full-Time, Construction Foremen to join our team for the upcoming paving season. Qualified candidates will have an extensive working knowledge of the construction industry with specific experience related to asphalt installation and site work. The Foreman will be responsible for safe and efficient operations, executing the work on site, quality and productivity and overseeing the field crew.

Responsibilities

  • Crew Supervision:Directly manage and lead asphalt paving crews, assign tasks, monitor performance, problem-solve and provide on-the-job training to ensure proper techniques are followed.
  • Site Management: Maintain professional, effective, and efficient communication with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Project Management: Understand project plans and details. Collaborate with managers to develop project schedules to ensure timely completion and ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Coordination: Verify project quantities and goals to coordinate materials, trucks and subcontractors necessary to complete the job.
  • Quality Control: Inspect asphalt materials and finished work to verify compliance with project specifications, identifying and addressing any quality issues.
  • Safety Oversight: Enforce all safety protocols on the job site, including proper use of personal protective equipment, traffic control measures, and hazard identification.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding asphalt paving techniques, equipment operation, and applicable construction regulations. Work on equipment if/when necessary, with the ability to communicate and coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance with management and shop personnel.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate and timely progress reports for labor, equipment, materials and other pay items including and job summary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus five years paving industry with supervisor experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a working knowledge of computers and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of calculating yield, slope/grade, paving speed and “best paving practices”.
  • Must be motivated and able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Strong work ethics with attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Full range of body motion including heavy lifting, handling and operating levers/controls, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Willing to work extended hours, including night and weekend work. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
  • Minimum OSHA-10 Construction safety card, OSHA-30 preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites for consistent ability to show up for work on time and every day as scheduled.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $60.30 per hour
