Position Summary:
The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for coordinating and executing shipping and logistics activities at our facility in Douglas, AZ. This position ensures timely and accurate processing of shipments, adherence to company policies, and effective communication with internal teams and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate customer shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve shipping-related issues promptly.
- Review and process customer orders transmitted electronically via EDI, email, or other platforms.
- Update and maintain accurate shipping information in the company’s ERP system.
- Communicate with customers regarding shipment schedules, order status, and issue resolution to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of finished goods to align with customer demand and production plans.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to address material shortages and expedite supply needs.
- Generate and distribute daily and weekly reports, including delivery performance, open order status, and capacity updates.
- Audit production lines and shipping areas to ensure work orders and inventory are accurate and complete.
- Follow all company policies, including safety, environmental, and ethical guidelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping processes and overall operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree in logistics, business, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems; familiarity with EDI processes is a plus.
- Language Skills: Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
- Other Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a warehouse/distribution environment that may require occasional lifting of packages and working near machinery.
