SUMMARY: The Service Manager is responsible for all aspects of business operations for the Service Department and for improving sales results through the satisfaction and retention of customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare Service Department sales and expense forecasts for budgeting purposes.
  • Responsible for the maintenance oversight of the department shop, vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure that all customer interaction is handled in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all vendors and factory personnel who represent the manufacturer.
  • Adhere to environmental requirements and safety programs.
  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, ideas and solutions to subordinates and customers.
  • Monitor and adjust workflow processes.
  • Settle customer and employee disputes.
  • Ensure company policies are followed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Directly supervises all employees within the department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, licenses, and registrations preferred:
    • CDL
    • Manufacturer certifications
  • Computer skills required: Dealer Management Systems, Inventory Software, Microsoft Office Suite, Payroll Systems
