Overview
CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a iOS Developer to join the team in Charleston, SC-*can also be remote! The iOS developer position will be responsible for the development of native mobile iOS applications written in Swift and SwiftUI. Development will include building customized UI (e.g., forms, dashboards, charts, and graphs) and connecting UI to back-end services via Apple frameworks and RESTful APIs. Developers will follow Agile software methodologies and collaborate well within a team environment.
Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.
Responsibilities
Your essential job functions, skills and knowledge will include but may not be limited to-
- Design, build, test, and deploy applications for iOS platforms
- Creates application specifications, diagrams, flow charts and other documentation to support the design and development if needed.
- Integrate Apple frameworks and services (UIKit, ClassKit, StoreKit, CoreData, etc.)
- Collaboration in a team environment to define, design, and deploy new features
- Debug and fix application bugs
- Maintain high standard of code quality and adhere to coding standards and best practices.
- Daily Stand Ups (DSUs) – 15 minute team meetings to give daily updates
- Meet deadlines for completed tasks and software releases
- Show demo of work to customers
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented principles
- Agile software development methodology
- Agile software development tools (Atlassian, GitLab)
- Proficient in Swift/SwiftUI and understanding of its ecosystems
- Source code version control (Git, Subversion)
- Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect to back-end services
- Good sense of UI design and a user-oriented focus
- Experience with Unit and Integration Testing
- Knowledge and experience in design patterns (MVC, MVVM, etc.)
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) software experience like Validic is a plus
- Bonus: experience with concurrency in an iOS environment
Qualifications
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer-related field
- 7 years minimum of professional software engineering experience with at least 2 years in Swift development
Security Requirements:
- Active Public Trust Clearance, or Ability to Obtain
