About This Role
The General Manager’s role is to guide and inspire the team to deliver an exceptional retail experience that promotes the Common Citizen movement. This involves leading by example in serving your fellow advisors; inspiring and admiring your team members; and working with company experts in value streams such as HR, Finance, and Regulatory Compliance.
Responsibilities
- Creating a quality work experience for the retail team, seeing them as people not employees.
- Manage and inspire staff to deliver the highest level of customer service.
- Provide consistent constructive feedback that empowers and motivates our team.
- Manage, supervise, and direct the activities of the store and team, including oversight of local store employee scheduling.
- Assist with reception, inventory management, and retail floor activities.
- Address issues that arise from employees or customers.
- Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths.
- Propose innovative ideas to increase brand awareness.
- Create and reinforce a proactive selling culture.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and strains in the store.
- Provide education for staff about medical cannabis products.
- Participate in developing and implementing operational policies to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
- Ensure compliance with security, inventory, and local and state regulations.
- Work with inventory & purchasing leads to create deals that promote increased foot traffic.
- Oversee and manage product inventory.
- Report on buying trends and customer needs.
- Manage financial records and cash handling procedures.
- Use active selling skills during guest engagements.
- Lead and coach selling skills in team members.
- Observe selling behaviors and coach with on-the-spot feedback.
- Adapt to a dynamic team environment where daily tasks may vary.
