As part of our expansion, Commons Clinic is launching the Healthspan Weight Management Program, a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to medical weight loss and metabolic health optimization. This program integrates personalized treatment plans, advanced metabolic testing, lifestyle interventions, behavioral modification, and medically supervised weight loss strategies to help patients achieve sustainable health improvements.

We are looking for a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) with specialized training in obesity medicine to lead the launch of this program. This is a contracted 1099 role with flexible hours (TBD) and a focus on providing concierge-level, cash-pay care in an advanced, prevention-focused clinical setting.

Position Overview

The Nurse Practitioner – Obesity Medicine Specialist will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering medical weight loss services within the Healthspan Program. This role involves conducting comprehensive metabolic assessments, prescribing weight loss medications (as appropriate), and guiding patients through evidence-based lifestyle modifications to optimize their long-term health. The ideal candidate has experience in concierge or cash-pay healthcare settings and is passionate about preventive care, metabolic health, and sustainable weight management strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive metabolic and obesity medicine assessments, including body composition analysis, resting metabolic rate evaluation, and cardiometabolic risk stratification.
• Develop and implement personalized medical weight loss plans, incorporating nutrition, exercise, behavioral coaching, and pharmacologic interventions (GLP-1s, lipotropic injections, etc.).
• Prescribe and manage FDA-approved weight loss medications, ensuring patient safety and adherence to evidence-based protocols.
• Perform biometric testing, bloodwork interpretation, and advanced metabolic screenings to track patient progress.
• Provide patient education on sustainable weight loss strategies, optimizing lifestyle modifications, and preventing weight regain.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including physicians, nutritionists, exercise physiologists, and health coaches, to ensure a holistic patient care approach.
• Utilize wearable health technology (CGMs, metabolic trackers) and advanced diagnostics to enhance patient insights and engagement.
• Ensure compliance with all clinical protocols, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
• Deliver a VIP, concierge-level patient experience, catering to cash-pay clientele seeking premier health and wellness solutions.

Qualifications

• Active California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in good standing.
• Certification or specialized training in obesity medicine (ABOM certification preferred but not required).
• 3 years of clinical experience in medical weight management, endocrinology, preventive/lifestyle medicine, or metabolic health.
• Prior experience in concierge medicine, executive health, cash-pay clinics, or high-touch wellness programs strongly preferred.
• Expertise in pharmacologic weight loss interventions, including GLP-1 receptor agonists (semaglutide, tirzepatide), lipotropic injections, and appetite suppressants.
• Strong foundation in preventive care, metabolic health, and behavioral counseling for sustainable weight loss.
• Exceptional patient engagement skills, with the ability to deliver personalized, concierge-level service.
• Experience with biometric tracking, wearable health technology, and functional lab testing a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative medical setting.
