The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St. Catherine Hospital is an eight-bed ICU. We staff an intensivist 24 hours per day, we care for a wide range of patients from sepsis, COPD exacerbation, respiratory distress, pneumonia, heat failure, GI bleed, renal failure and overdose. We take care of patients with art lines, central lines, intubations, procedures and telemetry monitoring for floor patients as well. We occasionally receive over flow from the med/surg floor if they are full.

Individuals might want to join our department because we are known for our collaborative teamwork. We are more of a family than co-workers. The employees support one another and never leave anyone behind. We can self-schedule and have a chance to develop a multitude of skills. There is a variety of personalities on our unit because that allows us to provide the best care to each patient individually.
The Clinical Nursing Manager is responsible for the management of clinical nursing practices and patient care delivery on the assigned unit(s). The role functions include management of human, fiscal, material, support and systems resources while achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department’s daily operations. The Clinical Nursing Manager role demonstrates a high level of integrity, willingness to take on new challenges and prioritizes associate engagement. This position consistently promotes a positive work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers. The Clinical Nursing Manager supports associate development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
Qualifications
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- 3 years RN experience, required
- 1-year clinical leadership experience, required
- High School GED required
- A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN), required
- Masters Degree preferred
- Current active and unencumbered RN License to practice in state of employment as applicable, required
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- Must sit for appropriate board certification within six months of hire or transfer into the role. Certification must be passed/obtained within two years of hire or transfer into the role.
- Clinical and/or Leadership certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- Credential: Nursing Specific- ANCC Approved
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
