Diabetic Educator will work cooperatively with the multidisciplinary team on curriculum development and teaching materials for educational services to diabetic patients. He/she will explore all options to procure testing monitors, materials and community resources for the un/under insured.

As a Diabetic Educator (Registered Dietitian or Registered Nurse (RN)), you will:

  • Be responsible for teaching diabetes education care skills to patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in class and individual sessions.
  • Maintain optimal program development, polices, marketing and data outcomes.
  • Act as the educator will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide quality care for patients enrolled in the diabetes program.
  • The Diabetic Educator will act as a leader, innovator and change agent in the pursuit of improved quality of patient care.

Qualifications

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified Diabetes Educator candidates will need the following:

  • Registered Nurse - Registered Dietitian or Registered Nurse in the state of employment
  • Associate Degree required
  • Three years' experience in patient education
  • One year experience in diabetic education
  • Certified Diabetic Educator
  • Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs constantly

$33.55 - $53.72 / hour
