Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The incumbent performs technical patient care on all patient populations in the Emergency Department as ordered under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- This position is represented by SEIU Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Minimum one (1) year experience with either EMS provider or Fire Services, or comparable experience in an emergency room setting as an ED Tech or CNA with a phlebotomy license.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
- EMT = Active EMT certificate required (CT= EMT).
- CT CPRBLS = Basic Life Support CPR
- Phlebotomy license within 6 months of employment.
- CNA or ED Tech
- Must obtain NCCT certification or equivalent and have an active phlebotomy license.
- Completion of EMT requirements or comparable experience with a phlebotomy license.
- Crisis intervention or equivalent within 6 months of hire.
- Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
Preferred
- 1 (one) year experience as an EMT.
- AA degree in related field preferred.
