Program Overview:
Commonwealth Corporation has a strong history of designing, implementing, and managing a range of programming and initiatives that address the needs of youth and young adults who are among our more vulnerable populations. Using evidence-based practices and regional sector partnerships to address social and workforce issues, CommCorp manages grant funds, designs, and supports implementation of programming for the states large-scale subsidized career development and youth employment initiative, YouthWorks, serving approximately 5000 young people each year.
Position Overview:
The YW Program Development and Training Support Coordinator role supports the research, design, development and evaluation of the program’s signature Signal Success curriculum and other program-related training initiatives. The role also supports field training, program development, administration of Youthworks’ Learning Management System (LMS) and assisting with the documentation of program-related processes and procedures and content management.
This position is ideal for an individual with strong organizational skills, curriculum writing, training/facilitation, and technical writing experience.
Key Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Support administration of the YouthWorks Learning Management System
- Research and design curriculum tools and resources for supporting effective and engaging delivery of career and work readiness content for teens and young adults
- Facilitate the demonstration of learning modules, co-facilitate, observe and provide targeted feedback in debriefing conversations
- Support administration assessment and evaluation to ensure that data is used to drive instruction
- Support coordination of Signal Success and other programming training
- Review and revise curriculum content and validate quality through working with participant data, program providers, and subject matter experts
- Provides training and program readiness support to field and internal staff
- Assist with documenting program standard operating procedures
- Coordinate the team’s content management structure
- Additional projects as assigned: these may include leading workshops and training for participants, documenting models of effective practice in youth employment and training
- Contribute to other team projects and other organizational departments as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Experience with youth workforce development/school to career initiatives and non-profit or public program management
- Strong understanding of instructional design, curriculum development and training tools
- Prior experience developing and delivering curriculum to youth/young adults and or staff working with youth/young adults
- Demonstrated effectiveness with a wide range of group presentation and facilitation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Work independently and as part of a team including the ability to solicit, accept, and provide constructive feedback on project assignments, deliverables and process improvements
- Team player with excellent collaboration, communication and relationship building skills
- Strong internal and external customer orientation
- Experience with research and program development

- Ability and willingness to continuously develop skills and knowledge to meet organizational needs
- Ability to function in a statewide project that, at times, may require travel within the state, must have access to a car

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in workforce development, instructional design, technical writing, and teaching
- Experience with ADDIE or other curriculum design model. ADT certification a plus
- Experience with Learning Management System (LMS)
- Experience with technical writing, developing process and procedures
- Experience coaching and/or training student and young adult learners, in in-person and virtual settings
- Experience working with diverse populations, including students and young adults and serving people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds
- Must be able to travel within the state of MA frequently; valid driver license is required
