By joining our Division of Equipment as an Electronic Technician II, you’ll have the opportunity to perform technical duties including configuration, implementation, installation, and repair of multi-site Land Mobile Radio, Satellite, Cellular, and WiFi networks. Works with customers to determine the specific communication requirements.

Summary of job responsibilities:
- Program, install, test and support land mobile radio and satellite network communications devices including portable, mobile, base and control station radios.
- Configure, install, test and support cellular and WiFi network modems and routers.
- Analyze divisions' communications requirements and design communications network around required needs. Perform receiver and transmitter checks of division equipment to determine Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulatory compliance.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of technical experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Technical training in electronics or a related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional technical experience will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office and/or electronic shop.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
