Key Responsibilities:
- Directs the overall administration of business affairs for the Kentucky School of the Deaf (KSD) operations.
- Oversees revenues and expenditures to ensure operating within budget. Oversees the processing and preparing of financial documents and reports for accounting operations, personnel, and program budgets.
- Responsible for accuracy, efficiency, and oversight of KSD general funds, state/federal funds and local amounts. Works with supervisor, KSB and KDE staff to ensure budget protocols are followed and budget is successfully implemented.
- Supervise the accounting of receipts and disbursements of funds (student activity, trust and Agency, imprest cash). Prepares financial records and reports. Works with KDE to ensure all spending of federal funds are allocated and submitted prior to federal deadlines.
- Process internal and external DPR’s in timely manner, ensure accuracy/timeliness of quotes, SPR1’s, funding source and availability, and approvals within KSD/KDE guidelines.
- Works with school principal for continuous improvement of DPR system for increase efficiency, productivity and ease of use to minimize staff errors.
- Submits all invoices in a timely and efficient manner. Orders all needed supplies with procurement guidelines. Works with staff to ensure invoices are submitted timely to the finance officer. Works with outside agencies to procure services/documentation.
- Works with KDE to ensure updated policy information for continued compliance.
- Works with campus directors to support master agreements, MOAs, as well as providing guidance and training on how to bid contracts. Works with KDE to ensure contracts are successfully updated, accurate and active.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration or a related field.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional accounting, business administration, public administration, or related experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate study in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for- year basis.

Probationary Period
