The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156 bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.
Are you looking for a rewarding career serving those who have served? We are currently seeking a conscientious, motivated individual to join our team as an Office Support Assistant to provide professional support to the Western Kentucky Veterans Center Nursing Department.
We are committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. The candidate will be assigned to perform a variety of office support duties for an assigned nursing unit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Processes documents and communicates decisions to others.
- Checks, maintains and provides detailed information in person, by telephone or electronic mail.
- Maintains and prepares records such as time and attendance for the assigned unit.
- Drafts correspondence as required by the Nursing Administrators.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills are necessary as well as the ability to multi-task.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Exceptional problem solving skills.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
