Our focus is on providing the the highest level of service to our customers with professionalism and integrity. The Division of Real Properties manages the Commonwealth’s real property.
Responsibilities include the acquisition of property required by the Commonwealth (excluding highway right-of-way, Universities and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System); maintaining an accurate inventory of owned and leased state property; managing state government parking facilities in the Franklin County area; leasing land and/or buildings for use by state agencies; maintaining space assignment records of all state-owned buildings managed by the cabinet; preparing quarterly occupancy charges for all cabinet-managed buildings. The Division acquires, sells, leases and inventories real property, as well as designs and space plans
The Property Management Branch Manager is a valued member of the Real Properties team that will assist agencies with needs related to real property. The position is located within the Leased Properties Branch and will primarily assist agencies with their leased property needs.
Key Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in public or business administration, management, real estate or a related field.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of experience in property analysis/evaluation.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate training in property analysis/evaluation or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in property analysis/evaluation or a related field will substitute for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title will be required to visit property sites. Inspect and write reports on the construction site.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Leased Properties Branch
- Procure new leased space through competitive bidding
- Modify lease terms as needed to meet agencies needs
- Meet with agency representatives and owners
- Conduct site visits
- Draft lease agreements, lease modifications and correspondence
- Prepare detailed lease reports as required by statute or as requested.
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of leasing real property
- Perform under pressure to complete projects in a timely manner
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products – mainly Outlook and Word
