DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aide Trainee, you will be responsible and accountable for learning the duties of a Residential Services Aide and begin with a paid in-classroom and on-the-job training program. You will learn how to care for and assist people with Intellectual Disabilities living at the Selinsgrove Center. Upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period as an Aide Trainee, you will be promoted to a Residential Services Aide.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment.
  • The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
  • Work hours during training: 1st shift 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Work hours after training: 1st shift 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Rotating break days, every 3rd weekend off.
  • Travel and overtime as needed.
  • Multiple positions may be filled from this posting.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $38,390.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • No previous experience needed, training provided.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
