The Bureau of Driver Licensing is hiring a Clerical Assistant 2 to research & provide various driver information products for the general public, department personnel, employers, insurance companies/agencies, law enforcement agencies, legislators, courts, attorneys, messengers, wholesale providers & other state/federal agencies.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will review the application and payment method being used prior to processing a request; reject documents to the customer for insufficient fees or more information needed to ensure that the customer receives accurate information/product. You will also use a PC for the data entry process, selecting the requested driving record, producing a letter of clearance, providing micro-film copies, utilizing ECS, scanning and attestations, and you will verify and mail completed information to customers to ensure that each customer receives the appropriate record.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
