DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor, you will provide vocational on-the-job training and shop instruction for inmates in the electronics trade to promote employability upon reintegration into the community. You will instruct standard practices, procedures, and repair of equipment used in the broadcast industry including electronics, radio, and television repair. You will plan schedules, direct inmate work crews, inspect completed assignments, and maintain documentation of inmate training progress. This role requires the ability to establish and maintain an effective learning environment that ensures successful vocational training necessary for future employment. In addition, you will issue and inventory materials and tools, submit purchase requests, and maintain the custody, care, and discipline of inmates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,846.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
