DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman for the Department of Corrections (DOC), your role will involve overseeing inmate work crews tasked with executing routine construction and maintenance projects within the correctional facility and its surroundings. Your responsibilities will encompass various assignments, such as lawn care, snow removal, janitorial services, and general maintenance. You will be responsible for planning and assigning daily schedules for inmates, as well as inspecting the quality of completed work. Additionally, you will manage the issuance and inventory of all materials and tools necessary for these tasks. Occasionally, you may also perform or assist with semi-skilled and skilled work in multiple trades at the facility, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work, refrigeration, masonry, steam-fitting, or welding.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hour work week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
