THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency is seeking Criminal Justice System Specialists to join our Victim’s Compensation Assistance Program team. Our mission is to enhance the quality, coordination, and planning within the criminal and juvenile justice systems, to facilitate the delivery of services to victims of crime, and to increase the safety of our communities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will play a key role in providing essential financial reimbursement guidance and compensation-related services for crime victims. You will be responsible for answering the program phone, assisting callers, making referrals, and doing follow-up as needed. You will also respond to emails received through the Programs resource account. You will assess and determine the eligibility of new Sexual Assault Counseling claims by applying the Pennsylvania Crime Victims Act, program rules and regulations, and processing guidelines. Your responsibilities will include preparing reviews and determinations to ensure the accuracy of information in the Dependable Access for Victims' Expenses (DAVE) system, as well as verifying the correctness of award calculations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the office at least one day per month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) Criminal Justice System Specialist Trainee program; or
- One year of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, and a bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
