DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform routine work in the preparation of meals and sanitation of food preparation and serving areas at the Southwestern Veterans' Center. Key duties of the position include cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, work surfaces, and other kitchen items; preparing trays, measuring portions, serving food, and transporting trays, carts, and nourishment; using equipment such as mixers, dicers, slicers, knives, and grinders. Your attention to detail and adherence to food safety protocols will be vital in providing nutritious and enjoyable meals for our residents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, alternating weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

- Previous food service work experience
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
