THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Repairman 2 in the wood shop. This position performs skilled work in a variety of trades of construction and/or building maintenance in order to prepare, repair and maintain assigned areas in the Facilities Design for Region 3. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform such duties as working independently and by assisting other workmen within the PLCB. The candidate will perform general maintenance, safety, carpentry, electrical, read blueprints, schematics, diagrams also paint, flooring, plumbing, reporting progress. The use of a variety of construction and maintenance equipment/tools in performing assigned tasks.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:
  • You must possess of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirement:
  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
