THE POSITION
We are excited to welcome you to District 8-0 as a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor, where you will be essential in supervising a bridge inspection team. In this role, you will perform a variety of technical duties associated with the inspection of bridges and other structures in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards. Your efforts will ensure quality and adherence to standards during the construction phase, playing a key role in the successful delivery of transportation projects. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will supervise a team responsible for inspecting bridges and various structures, ensuring compliance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards. Your duties will include managing bridge inspection records and documenting data related to the Bridge Management System (BMS2), which encompasses forms, photographs, field sketches, and drawings.
You will be tasked with maintaining proficiency in BMS2 to address inquiries and ensure the accurate input of data into the computer system. Additionally, you will collaborate with county maintenance units and railroads as necessary, providing essential equipment, permits, and support staff to facilitate safe access to structures. Your responsibilities will also involve supervising the collection of field data, photographs, sketches, narrative descriptions, inspection forms, and the preparation of detailed reports.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector; or
- Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent.
