- DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This is skilled journey-level automotive mechanic work in the maintenance and repair of Commonwealth vehicles, equipment, and parts. This position involves servicing a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, tractors, and various construction and maintenance equipment. You may carry out inspections to ensure compliance with specifications for the annual state safety inspection. Responsibilities also include repairing diesel equipment and providing guidance to other automotive and maintenance staff. You will work independently, following broad automotive and equipment maintenance guidelines, as well as safety and inspection regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime and travel: As needed
- May change based on operational needs.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- You must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
