As a Clinical Dietitian, you will be responsible for coordinating, inspecting, and evaluating the therapeutic diet program at the Pennsylvania Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Home. You will complete initial and annual nutritional assessments for residents. You can expect to ensure optimal nutritional status of residents by planning, implementing, and evaluating nutritional interventions. In this position, you will write nutritional care plans, make dietetic recommendations for implementation consistent with physician’s orders, and review care plans to ensure implementation. You will monitor residents at nutritional risk, consult with residents about their diet restriction and needs, and conduct periodic meetings with residents and their families to determine their preferences. Additionally, you will provide training to dietary and health care personnel as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Part-time employment, 37.5 hours every two weeks

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

• This position requires certification as a Registered Dietitian as defined by the Commission on Registration of the American Dietetic Association; or proof of eligibility for such certification.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
