What are the responsibilities and job description for the County Casework Supervisor (Local Government) - Mifflin County C&Y position at Commonwealth of Pennsylvania?
Within this role, you will be responsible for supervising In-home Caseworkers with the development of Family Service Plans following transfer of case from the Intake Unit. This includes consulting with Intake Supervisor and Intake Caseworker regarding case transfer and assigning transferred case to In-Home Caseworker. Your responsibilities will include maintaining balance of caseload for each caseworker, advising caseworker of general management policies and personnel issues, and meeting with caseworker to review services and progress of goals on Family Service Plans. Consulting with caseworker on safety of children and advising of the appropriate implementation of safety plans is essential. Communication is key as you will have the opportunity to interact with caseworkers, clients, service providers, and attorneys.
Additional duties to include but not limited to:
- Attending court hearings and providing testimony as needed
- Documenting all meetings, home visit contracts, telephone calls, and incoming/outgoing mail
- Prioritizing activities during crisis situations
- Reviewing case records
- Conducting employee performance reviews
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment. 72.5 hours biweekly
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
- Caseworkers will share on-call duties.
- Travel and overtime are required on an as needed basis.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
