The primary responsibility of the County Fiscal Officer 1 is to manage the accounting needs for all program transactions funded through the social services revenue streams.  Within this role, the main objective is to ensure the overall operations and financial management of the programs are in compliance with all federal, state, and county mandated requirements.  In addition, you will be responsible for preparing fiscal reports, assisting with the preparation of the departmental budget, and ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement to providers, consultants, and county staff for services rendered to county residents.  


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as a Fiscal Technician and six college credits in accounting; or
  • Five years of bookkeeping experience and six college credits in accounting; or
  • Three years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business related associate's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • One year of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related bachelor's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes or is supplemented by six college credits in accounting.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Blair County.  If no eligible candidates who live within Blair County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
