As a Social Services Aide 2 you will be tasked with assisting staff by providing clerical and paraprofessional case management support. You will be responsible for scheduling and monitoring client visitation. This involves supervising visits, communicating with caseworkers by typing up visits, providing concrete and specific documentation regarding the supervised visits, and in some cases, transporting dependent children to and from familial visits and appointments and being prepared to testify at court hearings regarding those visits. You will have the opportunity to attend child welfare trainings in order to further develop skills. Additional responsibilities include:
- Performing urine drug screens
- Assisting and aiding caseworkers with case material
- Traveling with and assisting caseworkers in attending client appointments
- Assisting in securing and delivery of inter-county correspondence and mail
- Registering and withdrawing children from school
- Acting as backup for the receptionist
- Processing court orders
- Tracking and dispatching agency vehicles
- Cross training in clerical positions and serving as back-up as needed
- Maintaining training records
- Commuting daily to the courthouse or administration center

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Occasional travel will be required. Travel expenses will be paid.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a County Social Services Aide 1; or
- Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or
- An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
