- THE POSITION
The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is looking to hire a Custodial Worker for Cook Forest State Park. This role involves performing regular manual tasks related to the upkeep and cleanliness of park facilities and surrounding areas. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in restrooms, bathhouses, and cabins by thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting toilets, sinks, showers, floors, and walls. Your duties will also include scrubbing, dusting, and polishing floors, furniture, and fixtures within park buildings, as well as replenishing restroom supplies as needed. You will manage waste disposal by emptying garbage cans throughout the park, replacing garbage bags, and ensuring that all waste is properly disposed of in the designated dumpster. Additionally, you will operate a pickup truck or utility vehicle to transport cleaning equipment across the park. Routine tasks will involve replacing light bulbs, performing minor repairs on buildings and equipment, or reporting any significant repair needs to your supervisor. You will also be tasked with picking up litter along roadways, around buildings, and in grassy areas, as well as moving furniture and equipment, delivering supplies, and running errands. This role requires you to travel to various job sites within the complex to carry out your responsibilities or deliver materials. Other responsibilities may include painting signs, replacing picnic tables and fire rings, using mowers and weed trimmers to maintain turf areas, shoveling snow, and sweeping and cleaning walkways. You will also be expected to perform any related tasks as necessary.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Seasonal full-time employment without benefits
- Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirements:
This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- One year of cleaning experience.
