DEP Intern - Southeast Regional Office - Communications Assistant (College)

THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this internship role, you will receive an introduction and a thorough overview of the diverse programs within a Regional Office, which may encompass Air Quality, Environmental Cleanup and Brownfields, Radiation Protection, Waste Management, Watershed Conservation and Restoration, Clean Water, Waterways and Wetlands, Safe Drinking Water Programs, Mining, and Oil and Gas. Additionally, you will engage in professional public relations activities within the DEP Communications Office. The aim is to offer an educational experience and practical knowledge in the fields of environmental science and sustainability.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

Full-time internship that will last from 5 / 1 / 2025 through 8 / 29 / 2025Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunchTelework :

You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on a schedule that aligns with the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements : Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree, or advanced degree program in one of the following majors :

CommunicationsEnvironmental StudiesMedia

An approved major course of study at an accredited college or universityGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Freshman year completedPennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
