- DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will utilize your keen observation skills to assess the physical and driving qualifications of applicants, as well as evaluate the mechanical condition of vehicles to ensure they meet the safety standards required for driving. You will conduct various vision tests, including telebinocular and color perception assessments, alongside administering knowledge examinations for both non-commercial and commercial driver licenses, ensuring candidates are well-versed in the Vehicle Code and traffic signage. Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial as you scrutinize applications, registrations, and permits for any signs of irregularities or fraudulent activity.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
- Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime and travel as needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
Special Requirements:- This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
- This position requires no suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five-year period immediately preceding employment.
- All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver's license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
