DESCRIPTION OF WORK

An Equipment Operator A will operate equipment and trucks with a gross vehicle weight up to 32,000 pounds. You will use vans, buses, and single-chassis trucks to transport consumers, staff, and materials, both on and off hospital grounds. You will also perform construction work, maintenance work, and equipment safety checks in accordance with DOT regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

Full-time employment.
Work hours : 6 : 45am to 2 : 45pm, 7 : 00am to 3 : 00pm and 8 : 00am to 4 : 00pm - work every 3rd or 4th weekend - 30-minute lunch.
May change based on operational needs.
Overtime - as needed and subject to emergency call-in.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :

Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Necessary Special Requirement :

You must possess a valid driver's license.

Condition of Employment :

This position requires the selected candidate to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within the probationary period.

Other Requirements :

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements :

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
