DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Press Office Intern, you will have the chance to acquire essential knowledge and experience regarding the functions and operations of a PennDOT Communications Office. This internship will allow you to apply your background in Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration and Management, Web Design, and Digital Media Marketing/Communication during the summer of the 2025 Summer Employment Program.


Internship opportunities associated with this posting will be for Engineering District 2 which consists of Clearfield, Centre, Clinton, Cameron, McKean, Potter, Mifflin, Elk, and Juniata Counties.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Travel may be required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Students who are interested in a PennDOT internship must meet all of the following requirements:
  • Must be a high school graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a full-time or part-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary education program for the fall semester.
  • In good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Special Requirement: Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled in one of the following acceptable majors:
    • Communications
    • Public Relations
    • English
    • Marketing
    • Professional Writing
    • Journalism
    • Business Administration
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
