Roadway Programs Technician 1

PennDOT Fayette County Maintenance office is looking for a Roadway Programs Technician 1 to join their team. This is technical work in Roadway Programs Management, under the direction of the Roadway Programs Coordinator. You will perform weekly field viewing and inspection of county roadways for the purpose of assisting with the inspection of posted roadways and the work of contractors making repairs as a result of unconventional oil and gas development and others meeting the department’s definition of a heavy user. This includes assisting with the documentation, including notes, photos, and video of roadway conditions completed through weekly inspections known as road condition surveys (RCS). Additionally, you will perform inspections of highways within an assigned geographical area to determine maintenance needs of guide rail, median barrier, impact attenuator, tree cutting, litter pick up, torts, reimbursable, vandalism, stolen property, fatal accident, and pre- and post-inspections of guide rail, median barrier, impact attenuator, and tree cutting sites.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Technical Assistant; or
• One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or
• An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
