DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will help plan, organize, and lead activities and outings designed to enhance residents' socialization, relationships, self-respect, self-esteem, and self-help skills. You will foster a safe and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, volunteer groups, other departments, and the public. Additionally, you will conduct and engage in program and leisure time activities, manage inventory of therapeutic supplies and equipment, and monitor resident behavior to provide insights on their progress, strengths, and needs. You will also contribute to staff development by participating in training and educational programs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work schedule will consist of rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (commonwealth title); or
- Six months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must be willing and able to work in Lackawanna County, PA
- Possess paid experience working as a Therapeutic Recreation Service Worker and or Activities Assistant
- Possess experience working in a long-term care unit or facility
- Possess experience working with dementia residents
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
