Commonwealth Pain and Spine (CP&S) is one of the fastest growing, progressive, comprehensive pain management groups in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Our team of friendly physicians are all board certified in pain medicine and anesthesiology and take the time to educate our staff. Our facilities are brand new with the latest technology. This is a remote position: schedule will be Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing encounters submitted by the providers for correct coding review (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, modifiers).
- Coding out E&Ms and procedures as appropriate or as needed.
- Provide coding and billing education to providers and staff.
- Perform audits every year to maintain efficiency with compliance standards.
- Keep up-to-date on coding standards and unique payor policies and procedures.
- Track, fix, re-bill and follow-up on all unpaid claims.
- Contact insurance companies regarding claims.
- Answer any patient inquiries and assist with any billing questions from multiple office locations, when necessary.
- Appeal claims if necessary.
- Arrange payment plans according to company policy.
- Provides excellent customer service to employees, vendors, contractors, and guests with general questions
- Maintains an approachable and appropriate attitude when interacting with all levels of personnel in a rapidly changing environment
- Eagerness and ability to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
- Supports the vision and culture of the organization. Demonstrates personal commitment through active involvement in the performance improvement process.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Must have an up-to-date certification through AAPC or AHIMA
- Experience in pain management a plus!
- Requires a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience in Accounts Receivable.
- Requires a level of communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively and tactfully with applicants, all levels of employees and management staff, vendors and the general public
- Knowledge of insurance plans and their rules.
Skills and Abilities:
- Microsoft Word experience, required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- MS Outlook experience preferred
