Commonwealth Payroll is recruiting for a Controller. This is a newly created position due to growth and an in-office position based in Virginia Beach, VA.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Work with the CFO on annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA and public accounting experience are preferred, but not required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
