Commonwealth Payroll is recruiting for a new Payroll Consultant. This is a newly created position due to growth and a great opportunity to be mentored by an experienced manager. This is an in-person position based in our Virginia Beach office.

Responsibilities: The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with clients to create and process their payrolls accurately and timely
  • Respond to customer support tickets and resolve payroll related questions and issues
  • Utilize your understanding of federal and state taxes, employee benefits, insurance policies, retirement plans, time off plans, etc. to support clients, as needed
  • Review payroll reports prior to processing payrolls to catch and prevent errors
  • Work in the time and attendance system to assist clients
  • Add child support orders, garnishments, liens, and levies to employee profiles as those are received from clients
  • Assist with accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W2s, 1095s, 1099s etc.)

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience in Payroll
  • An Associates or Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not required
  • FPC is preferred but not required
  • Must be a team player and be able to meet tight deadlines,
  • High level of detail-orientation, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong customer support and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $62,500.00 per year
