Pay Rate: $34-$38/Hour
Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Infection Preventionist to join our team. In this critical role, you will play a key part in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating our infection control program. Your expertise will ensure that our facility adheres to the highest standards in infection control processes and procedures, contributing to the health and well-being of our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
· Research current literature and technical reports to maintain infection control processes to appropriate standards.
· Communicate compliance-related issues to relevant parties.
· Conduct surveillance and inspection to monitor and ensure consistent adherence to proper procedures within quality standards.
· Monitor all residents and staff infections, track and oversee reporting of any outbreaks within the facility.
· Track all antibiotic usage within the resident population.
· Collaborate with and assist supervisors and professionals in training and educating all personnel on the importance of required procedures.
· Prepare required reports for quarterly medical staff meetings.
· Provide direct nursing care as needed by the Nursing Services Department.
Qualifications:
· Current and valid LPN license
· Infection Prevention Certificate preferred, or must be obtained within 6 months of hire, and must meet all applicable federal and state licensure requirements.
· Minimum of two years of experience in long-term care or geriatrics
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
· Previous experience in a hospital, assisted living community, or long term care facility preferred.
