What are the responsibilities and job description for the PAYMENT POSTER position at CommuniCare Health Services Corporate?
NewVista Health and Wellness owns and operates state of the art behavioral health hospitals in Central and Southern Ohio. NewVista is currently seeking a medical billing professional to fill the full time position of Payment Poster. The Payment Poster is responsible for the expedient and accurate posting of payments received. The position will pay up to $18 an hour with larger BONUS opportunity. The position is based at our Corporate Office In Blue Ash suburb of Cincinnati.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage self-pay accounts data ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance.
2. Update corrected patient demographic data and insurance information (if applicable) into the medical software system.
3. Contact Private Pay and Self-Pay patients to collect outstanding balance on accounts.
4. Set up appropriate payment plans (as approved by senior leadership).
5. Attend payer seminars for continuing education in billing and accounts receivable.
6. Effectively communicate with medical facility staff, patients, and / or insurance payers as needed.
7. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma
2. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
3. Ability to prioritize and complete designated tasks in a timely manner.
4. Ability to be cross-trained in other areas of the revenue cycle and other billing systems.
5. Ability to perform accurate arithmetical functions involving whole numbers and percentages.
6. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
7. Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
8. Previous revenue cycle and collections experience preferred.
9. Call center experience preferred.
